About the Event

Cortland Arts Connect (CAC) is pleased to invite the public to a reception for the 12th Annual Regional Photography Show Exhibit on October 14th at 5:30 pm, with the awards to be announced at 6:30. Nineteen local photographers have entered thirty-seven photographs. This year’s specific entry categories are Shadows, Angles, and Motion, with two additional categories included, Open and Daydream. Jim Weiss, the Committee Chair and organizer for this annual exhibit, said, "We are fortunate to have Elisha Stasko; Adjunct professor at Syracuse University Newhouse School of Public Communications, return as the judge for the show. Elisha teaches introductory photography to undergraduate and graduate students, including camera usage, post-production editing, and principles of storytelling and visual communication.  Her photography experience and insight are refreshing and educational for the entrants."

The Regional Photography Exhibit will be on display in the gallery at the Cortland Free Library from Wednesday, October 5th through the month of November, and the online gallery of all of the entries, as well as the winners of each category, will be available in our virtual gallery on the Cortland Arts Connect website www.cortlanartsconnect.org after the awards presentation. The show is an extremely popular event, and it is always interesting to see how the photographers interpret the entry categories. The Annual show gives Cortland County residents at all levels of experience an opportunity to share their art with other photography enthusiasts.
